Welcome to Blooming Valley!  We are a family-run nursery growing an eclectic collection of perennials, ornamental grasses, and natives for our retail and wholesale customers.  The art of growing is our passion, and bringing beauty into an ecologically respected world is our vision. This combination inspires our mission to grow the healthiest, happiest, and highest quality plants available, and to do so using sustainable methods.

Quality

Blooming Valley plants are professionally grown by a nursery team focused on quality.  We sell our plants only when they are fully rooted into their pots, healthy, and well-grown to ensure successful transplanting into your garden.  We hear the results of our high-quality approach as countless customers tell us our plants thrive in their gardens ─ and that’s why they keep coming back!

Sustainability

At Blooming Valley we continually search for ways to minimize any negative environmental impact.  Our perennials are grown using sustainable practices.  We have two small children who enjoy getting their hands into every aspect of production, so we don’t use any substances that could cause them harm.  We use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for insect and disease control, which greatly reduces the need to spray.  When we do have to spray, we only use organic sprays.  In addition, we use slow-release and organic fertilizers.  Our plants are healthier because of it.  We are proud to have plants that are safe and non-toxic for people and the environment.

Nursery production of plants is very water intensive.  Our highly efficient irrigation system is designed to minimize wasted water.  Each plant gets exactly what it needs with all of the water going directly into the pot.  Where we do need to use overhead irrigation, our set-up is designed to maximize water usage.

We have a pot re-use program to help reduce the amount of plastic waste generated by the nursery industry.  Please return our product line pots to us and we will give you plant credit toward your next purchase.  Most of our pots are made from plastic that is recyclable, so if you can’t return them to us, or they are broken, please recycle our pots.  Every bit helps!

Beauty

We are creating a more beautiful world one garden at a time.  We are making gardening exciting, fun and easy to encourage more people to plant gardens, which then provide habitat for birds, butterflies and wildlife, and provide a source of joy for the gardener.  We are committed to installing radiant garden designs in our local towns to create change through the influence of the beauty of nature.

Social Responsibility

Blooming Valley donates a percentage of our profits each year to groups who are working for global stewardship.  We do our best to donate our time and plants to local causes.  We are committed to education and are making people aware of ecology and the human interaction and impact on our ecosystem through gardening.  We are working with local schools to bring more gardening into the curriculum and setting up outdoor garden classrooms where students can create beauty in their own school playgrounds.  More than anything, we want all children to get outside, dig in the dirt, and grow up connected to plants and the natural world.  (Learn about our Radicle Sprouts Workshop for kids.)

We offer landscape design and garden coaching services to create innovative, artistic, and beautiful gardens in homes and businesses.  We provide quick sketches, on-site plant layout, or full-scale master plans.  Our garden coaching service gives you personal and professional design, consulting, or garden mentoring services at your home.  It’s a personal approach to helping you create the gardens of your dreams, and become the confident gardener you want to be.  Let us know how we can help you creatively transform your world!

The Experience

Come out and see our nursery!  Our knowledgeable staff of horticulturalists loves to give you the personal help you need.  We have a wealth of information and experience, and are happy to answer your questions.  Our growing display gardens are full of inspiration, as you can see the evolution of new and mature plants and contemplate elements of garden design.  Bring your kids and let them happily play in our kid-friendly environment as you shop.  Enjoy the peaceful serenity of the countryside, surrounded by the beautiful high hills of Clyde Township in the Wisconsin River Valley.  This is a wonderfully scenic part of the state, well worth a visit if you’re not already lucky enough to be living in the area.  We are within a 15-minute drive of Taliesin (architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s home and school), American Player’s Theater (APT), Governor Dodge State Park, The House on the Rock, the world famous Spring Green General Store, Global View (South Asian arts and artifacts), the Wisconsin River, and so much more.  We hope you make the journey out to visit!
